Describe major career and life decisions that led you to your current position.
How have these experiences shaped the way you engage with clients?
I’ve worked at a number of law firms over the years, including a couple of Am Law 100 firms. For me, those environments were just so big and unwieldy—it was hard to find your way. Lommen Abdo is a good size, it’s local, and it just fits more with what I’m looking for in a law firm.
What motivates you as a lawyer?
To do well by my clients. To service them and get good results for them, across the board.
Tell us about a few of your biggest successes as a lawyer.
When you win a case, that’s obviously a success. One case that really stands out was a personal injury matter I handled many years ago involving a burn victim. It resulted in a settlement, but it changed his life. He was horribly wounded, and it felt really good to be able to at least partially make him whole.
What unique perspectives do you bring to your practice?
Having a lot of experience and having been at it for as many years as I have, just gives you the bandwidth to be able to address a wide range of issues and problems that come up in the practice as you go from client to client.
What is your client philosophy?
Trust the client and have the client trust you.
What are you most proud of?
My children. I’m most proud of them and of being a mother.
What is a little-known fact about you?
I have twins—a boy and a girl—and they’re 25 years old.
