Lommen Abdo is pleased to announce that Joseph Wetch has been named a shareholder at the firm. With more than two decades of litigation experience and a strong commitment to client advocacy, Joe brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to his practice.
A Legal Career Built on Problem-Solving
Joe’s journey to the legal profession wasn’t a direct one. Initially planning to attend medical school, he realized that science wasn’t the right fit and shifted his focus to political science. It was through studying government and law that he discovered his passion for advocacy and problem-solving, leading him to law school and, ultimately, a career as a trial attorney.
For Joe, the most rewarding part of practicing law is helping clients navigate disputes—whether through trial, mediation, or arbitration. He understands that legal conflicts can be stressful, and he takes pride in finding solutions that serve his clients’ best interests.
Experience That Shapes His Approach
Joe has extensive experience in commercial litigation, construction law, contract disputes, and insurance law, but his true passion lies in the courtroom. He thrives on trial work, where he can apply his strategic thinking and advocacy skills to achieve favorable outcomes.
As litigation costs continue to rise, Joe recognizes the growing role of arbitration and mediation in resolving disputes more efficiently. He sees these alternative dispute resolution methods as valuable tools that provide clients with cost-effective, timely solutions while still delivering fair outcomes. By understanding when to push for trial and when alternative methods are the best path forward, Joe ensures his clients make informed decisions that align with their goals.
Leadership and Perspective
Joe’s leadership extends beyond the legal field. Before his legal career, he served in the U.S. Army for nearly a decade, including time as a non-commissioned officer in Germany. His military experience taught him invaluable skills in leadership, teamwork, and conflict resolution—skills he continues to apply in his legal practice.
His experience as a longtime shareholder at a previous firm also gives him a unique perspective on firm leadership, decision-making, and mentorship. He looks forward to bringing these insights to Lommen Abdo and helping to shape the firm’s continued growth.
Beyond the Law
Outside of work, Joe is currently training for his first triathlon. He also enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf with his son and daughter, and taking advantage of Minnesota summers at his family’s lake house.
Looking Ahead
Joe’s approach to law is simple: work hard, advocate for your clients, and always prioritize ethical and effective representation. As he steps into his role as a shareholder at Lommen Abdo, he remains committed to serving his clients with the same dedication and passion that have defined his career.
Please join us in congratulating Joe Wetch on this well-earned achievement!
