Nathan Z. Heffernan

With four years of judicial clerkship experience, Nathan Heffernan knows how the judicial system works. Prior to joining Lommen Abdo, Nathan clerked at the Minnesota Court of Appeals and in Minnesota’s Sixth Judicial District in Duluth. In law school, Nathan interned for Justice Shirley Abrahamson of the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Nathan received his B.A. from the University of Minnesota and received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

In his practice at Lommen Abdo, Nathan concentrates his practice on all areas of litigation, including complex commercial litigation and insurance coverage and defense. Nathan also serves clients through the firm’s professional liability practice.  Nathan also serves clients as a business and corporate lawyer helping clients with every stage of their businesses. From entity formation through exit strategy, Nathan is there to assist with all corporate matters.  Nathan is listed as a Rising Star by Minnesota Super Lawyers for his work in Civil Litigation – Defense.

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Nathan is an avid Minnesota sports fan and enjoys cheering on the Gophers, Vikings, and Loons. While Nathan was a history major at the University of Minnesota, he studied abroad at Trinity College in Dublin. Nathan lived in Duluth for two years before coming back to the Twin Cities.

When he’s not practicing law, he enjoys spending time at his family’s cabin on the Brule River in northern Wisconsin.
