She has built a strong appellate practice and has been a trusted resource to both clients and colleagues. We are grateful for her leadership, mentorship, and dedication, and we wish her all the best in her well-earned retirement.”
Below is a message Kay recently shared with clients and colleagues:
Dear Friends and Clients,
After 43 years of practicing law at Lommen Abdo, I will be retiring at the end of April.
It has been a privilege to work with so many of you over the years—clients, colleagues, and referral partners—on appellate matters that are both challenging and meaningful. I am deeply grateful for the trust you have placed in me and our firm.
For the past several years, I have worked closely with my partner, Michelle Kuhl, in preparing her to lead our appellate practice. Michelle is an exceptionally skilled appellate lawyer with more than a decade of experience and has been deeply involved in our appellate work, including briefing and argument in complex matters.
Michelle brings strong legal judgment, thoughtful analysis, and a clear, persuasive writing style to every case. She is also highly responsive and collaborative—qualities that I know are important to all of you.
I have complete confidence in Michelle’s ability to continue serving you at the highest level. Our appellate practice remains a priority for the firm and is well-positioned for continued growth under her leadership.
Michelle will be your primary contact for all appellate matters going forward, and can be reached at mkuhl@lommen.com or directly at 612-336-9328. I will remain available during this transition to ensure continuity and a seamless handoff of any ongoing work.
Thank you again for your trust and support over the years. It has been an honor to serve you.
Sincerely,
Kay Nord Hunt
