Ron London / Biography
Ron has extensive experience providing legal counsel to successful, privately-owned businesses and their owners, helping them structure their businesses and their estates for long-term success. Ron believes that his legal work is most successful when it is performed as part of the client’s team of professionals, including their accountants, and financial advisors.
Ron’s experience in business planning includes creating customized business continuation plans for successful businesses and their owners. For example, Ron is one of few attorneys who have the knowledge and experience to incorporate an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) as a tax-favored planning tool in a business continuation plan when appropriate (Ron founded the Minnesota Chapter of The ESOP Association in 1989). Ron seeks to coordinate this business planning with estate planning strategies designed to preserve businesses and the value they represent for the benefit of their owners.
Before entering private practice, Ron served as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Minnesota where he represented the Minnesota Department of Revenue in state and federal tax matters. The reality is that tax issues are an important part of both business planning and estate planning. Ron’s clients receive the benefit of this tax background and Ron’s experience working with successful, privately-owned businesses and their owners as his clients work with Ron through the process of implementing their own business plans and estate plans.
This knowledge and experience and Ron’s approach to the planning process has translated into Ron being rated AV Preeminent® for the highest level of professional excellence by Martindale-Hubbell.
