Tara Solander-Hicks / Biography
A self-proclaimed numbers nerd, I love the logic of accounting and the law. I enjoy helping clients figure out what to do with assets and get plans squared away on paper. It is rewarding to see clients achieve peace of mind knowing that their requests will be carried out properly.
I bring more than 24 years of paralegal experience in estate, trust, and probate. My focus is to assist the firm’s attorneys with all estate planning needs for our clients. I help clients see the big picture and understand each step of the process with thorough but simple explanations. Clients often reach out to me with questions, including what is needed, should I complete this form, how do I fill this out, what is the next step, or what does this letter mean.
I am routinely involved with significant assets and income cases and I collaborate with
clients in:
- Collecting assets;
- Preparing annual accountings; and
- Filing tax returns (estate, gift, individual, fiduciary).
I provide assistance with a wide variety of matters, including:
- Drafting documents, pleadings, and tax returns;
- Preparing probate and trust accountings, and annual accounting filings for conservatorships;
- Drafting and preparing wills, trusts, health care directives, and powers of attorney;
- Compiling real estate deeds, coordinating with real estate professionals, and
collecting necessary documents.
Proper preparation and planning can help clients avoid potential problems, such as
family strife or financial conflict. Often people don’t know where to start or what to
expect when it comes to estate planning. I will handle every aspect with clear
communication and friendliness to make it a positive experience for clients.
