Describe major career and life decisions which led you to your current position. How have these experiences shaped the way you engage with clients?

I started as a general practitioner, working in a variety of legal areas, which helped me discover what I truly enjoyed. Over time, I focused my practice on estate planning, estate administration, small business matters, and real estate law. After nearly three decades as a solo practitioner, I joined Lommen Abdo to collaborate with a team of talented attorneys, which has been both fulfilling and a great resource for my clients.

What motivates you as a lawyer?

People motivate me. I strive to make clients feel comfortable and heard, building trust through genuine connection. For me, being a lawyer is about more than solving legal problems—it’s about fostering meaningful relationships.

Tell us about a few of your biggest successes as a lawyer.

For me, success is about relationships I’ve built with clients, some spanning multiple generations. Knowing clients trust me to assist their families over decades is incredibly rewarding and speaks to the care I bring to my practice.

What unique perspectives do you bring to your practice?

My background as a social worker and general practitioner allows me to bring both empathy and a broad knowledge base to my work. I see each client as an individual, tailoring my approach to meet their specific needs while ensuring they feel supported and understood.

What is your client philosophy?

I believe in being approachable and fostering trust through open communication. Clients should feel comfortable and confident, knowing their concerns are heard and their goals are a priority. For me, it’s about building a partnership with each client.

What are you most proud of?

I’m proud of the balance I’ve achieved between my career and personal life. Running a successful solo practice while raising two children as a single mom wasn’t always easy, but I made it work. Now, I have a wonderful husband, and together we enjoy our blended family of five children and four grandchildren. It is joyful for me being a grandmother.  Family has always been a priority, and that shapes how I approach life.

What is a little-known fact about you?

My independence has been a defining trait throughout my life, inspired by my father, who was both a lawyer and a military man. His encouragement to stand on my own helped me develop the resilience and self-sufficiency that have been vital to my career and personal growth. It’s a value I carry with me every day, both inside and outside of the office.

Lommen Abdo President Marc Johannsen shares, “Jeanne’s dedication to her clients and her extensive experience align perfectly with the values of our firm. We are thrilled to welcome her to Lommen Abdo and look forward to the exceptional service she will provide to our clients.”
